![]() Last week we had Ms. Walters our school councelor stop by to teach us all an important lesson, Bucket filling. She read the story "Have You Filled A Bucket Today?" by Carol McCloud. This heartwarming book encourages positive behavior by using the concept of an invisible bucket to show children how easy and rewarding it is to express respect, kindness, appreciation, and love by filling other peoples invisible bucket. The bucket represents your mental and emotional self. We discussed ways we can fill each other’s buckets in KG2B. Children said by hugging, smiling, saying I love you, helping each other and sharing our toys. The children were then asked to write compliments on each other’s buckets. The responses were lovely, such as You Rock!, I love you, and you are the best! If you would like to reinforce or discuss the topic at home watch the story here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xegQUON65hk and discuss bucket filling.
