In science, KG2 students have been learning all about animals needs and habitats. Last week they completed a project with partners where they had to design a shelter for an animal and then build it. I was so proud of all their amazing creations and the way they worked so well with their partners to complete their task. Check out all the great photos.
![]() This week in math we started a new unit focusing on two-Dimensional shapes. Students are learning to name the shapes and describe their properties using the vocabulary "sides" and "vertices". We did several hands on activities with the students exploring the shapes, building them and finding them in and around the environment using technology (iPad) to record their findings. It is important to use the correct mathematical language when describing shapes attributes. Children may say "corner" ,but encourage them to use "vertex" or vertices" when referring to a corner. With practice these words will become terms children use regularly when describing shapes. Check out this free interactive game online your child can play:
