![]() Today's green planet field trip was amazing! Our visit to Green Planet was extra special because we were the only school there and had the whole green planet to ourselves. We came at the perfect time, when all the animals were waking up and eating breakfast. The students had a very up close and personal experience with all the animals. Our tour guide Ms. Milkah was a great teacher, she taught us all about the rainforest and how the animals and plants co-exist and survive together. When we first arrived students were greeted by two beautiful birds, they were then taken to the three different areas of the rainforest: the canopy, the midstory and the forest floor. Students got to get up close and personal with some beautiful macaws, we saw a toucan, different types of lizards, iguanas, snakes, a tarantula, and a sloth eating his breakfast. Ms. Milkah also let the students touch some of the slimy bugs like a millipede, which some students were more excited about than others. It was great fun and afterwards the students enjoyed having a picnic in Safa park. Show your child this educational video to reinforce the facts about the rainforest. https://jr.brainpop.com/science/habitats/rainforests/
Check out some photos below. ps. Ask your children the silly dance they learned that sloths do when they need to go to the bathroom! Hehe

![]() Dear Parents, Today at CAS we celebrated the 46th U.A.E national day. What a lovely celebration it was! Students enjoyed learning about the U.A.E, tasting traditional foods, taking photos with a falcon and camel, and making U.A.E related crafts. It was wonderful to see all the students dressed up in traditional clothing to celebrate such a special day. Check out all our fun photos below. ![]() Wow,What an amazing day KG2B had today! Students celebrated the American holiday by giving back to the CAS community. The children worked together as a class and made two beautiful cards for two of our security guards at CAS. They wanted to give thanks and show appreciation to them for all their hard work. We invited them to our class and presented them with the gift. Teaching students gratitude at an early age provides them with an outlook that will impact them positively for the rest of their lives. It was wonderful to watch the students feel the impact of their kind gesture, and their smiles said it all. They were very proud of themselves and so was I. ![]() A big thank you parents for the donations for the Turkey Trot. Your donations will support bringing education to Nepal with Dubai Care. The students loved running for the great cause and they did amazing!! "Building a better world, one school at a time." We then enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving Lunch. The students all loved the turkey so much they had seconds and even thirds!! Thank you to those parents who were able to join us for this special lunch, it made it extra special! KG2B is very THANKFUL!!
![]() Upcoming class trip to : “The Green Planet” ( Wednesday November 29th 2017) The Green Planet is an unparalleled offering which will appeal to nature lovers and explorers of all ages while providing educational insights on the delicate balance of nature on Planet Earth. It is built around the desire to contribute to environmental consciousness in the region. As part of this priority, The Green Planet will aim to not only impress students and teachers with a novel green oasis in the city, but at the same time ensure that they enjoy an up-close educational and fun experience. Life in the rainforests is competitive and survival tough. Rainforest plants and animals have developed complex relationships with other species in order to survive this diverse environment. The Rainforest Relationships program gives students the opportunity to explore these complex relationships and learn about how working together is key to survival, while also getting to know the indigenous plants and animals. We will be focusing on the differentiation of the rainforests habitats and the meaning of relationships in a rain forest community. The field trip links to our science standard this unit: K-LS1-1.
