![]() Todays green planet field trip was a success! Not only did the students have a great time exploring the amazing tropical rainforest ,but it was also very educational. Our tour guide Ms. Diane was a great teacher, she taught us all about the raintforest and how the animals and plants co-exist and survive together. When we first arrrived students were greated by two beautiful birds, they were then taken to the three different areas of the rainforest: the canopy, the midstory and the forest floor. Students got to get up close and personal with some beautiful macaws, we saw a toucan, different types of lizards, iguanas, snakes, a tarantula, and a sleepy sloth. Ms. Diane also let the students touch some of the slimey bugs like a millipede, which some students were more excited about than others. Something also very exciting we got to witness was a very small butterfly hatching out of its cacoon. It was great fun and afterwards the students enjoyed having a picnic in Safa park. Show your child this educational video to reinforce the facts about the rainforest. https://jr.brainpop.com/science/habitats/rainforests/
Check out some photos below. ps. Ask your children the silly dance they learned that sloths do when they need to go to the bathroom! Hehe
