The kids had a blast on Tuesday during our Science Day! They explored their 5 senses in 5 different activities led by the KG2 teachers. We enjoyed the fresh air and learning through play! Students worked in collaborative groups to create a poster about one of their 5 senses. Then the kids had to practice their public speaking by presenting their finished work in front of the class.
Last week was a fun and extremely busy week! We learned about Diwali, celebrated Halloween and had our class photos!
The children has so much fun during our Halloween centers. They made monsters and ghosts, helped carve a pumpkin, played Halloween Bingo, and turned each other into mummies with rolls and rolls of toilet paper! I hope they came home excited and full of stories about their day. Here are some photos of all the excitement! Our class had so much fun on the field trip on Thursday! The kids really enjoyed both the bowling and mini golf and made a lot of keen observations about motion!
Ask your child to explain how their bowling ball or golf ball moved. See if they can explain the difference between a push and a pull as well as explain how a bigger push will increase the speed at which the object moves- we had fun but learned a lot as well! I was very impressed with everyone's mature behavior on the trip as well- congratulate your kiddos for a job well done! :) Dear Parents-
This has been a very busy week and we have lots of special events coming up! Tomorrow, October 11th, is the Ice Cream Social- please send 5 aed for your child to purchase an ice-cream. Permission slips are due tomorrow, October 12th!! Please ensure that you return your child's completed form along with 95 aed if you would like for them to attend the trip. Magrudy’s Book Fair Information: We are having the 1st Book Fair of the year next week. Beginning Sunday, the 16th of October, through Thursday, the 20th of October, Magrudy's will be in the main atrium from 7:30 am until 4:00 pm. We are excited to have them on campus again this year. Parents are welcome to visit throughout the week. If you cannot visit the sale then money can be sent to school with your children to purchase items with the envelopes sent home this week. Come and enjoy the fair! The first month of school is already over! Time has flown by- especially with all of these days off! Now that our students have had a whole month of KG2 I would like to remind parents about a few things: 1- Please send the "Take-Home" folder back to school everyday and remind your child to put in in the Folder box by the door each morning. I would like for this to become a routine so even if the folder is empty it needs to go home each afternoon and come back each morning. 2- Please remember to check your child's folder in the evenings because we will be sending home completed work, class information, calendars, and other important information. 3- Show-and-Tell: Please remember that we will have Show-and-Tell every Thursday! Your child should bring one small toy or personal item (photo, book, drawing, etc.) that they would like to share with the class. Thank you! Ms. Becca Welcome parents! I will be posting photos and class news here on the KG2E page of the Kindergarten blog. |
