CVC Words![]() Here the kids are showing off their phonemic awareness skills during an Engage New York skills lesson. They are writing CVC words. CVC words are an important part of reading and writing. They are words that are created with the consonant-vowel-consonant sequence for example CAT. Once mastered, young children may progress to more complicated word structures beyond the three letters structure of CVC words. Mastering CVC words and phonemic awareness is essential to becoming a successful reader. KG2C has progressed a lot in both their writing and reading.
